Lyrics – Love Lives On

Born Winner

What if I told you, you were a winner
Numero uno since the day you were born
A bona fide, gold-medal, world-class swimmer
Certified Olympian with perfect form

Spoken: Class, turn to chapter one in your Biology books

Don’t you remember back in the beginning
Pushing your way through the ovarian rush
Two hundred thousand of your sisters and brothers
Left in the proverbial fallopian dust
Take it or leave it, oh, I ain’t no liar
You were kickin’ and screamin’ “Get out of my way”
You had the passion, yeah, you had the fire
You’ve know you’ve you had it in you since the very first day

When it’s all uphill
And it comes down to sheer will
You are a star contender
Yeah, baby you are born winner

What if I told you, you had a purpose
Something that nobody else but you can do
No need to worry, don’t get all nervous
You got the goods to make your dreams come true
Take it or leave it, I ain’t no liar
I’m just a messenger of pertinent news
You got the passion, still got the fire
It’s in your DNA, yeah, there’s no way you can lose

Chorus

It ain’t no accident that you are here
Know what you want and get your ASK in gear

Chorus

Love Lives On

(Lovingly dedicated to the families of the Sandy Hook shooting victims)

They say that evil came to town
And twenty-six sweet souls went down in vain
Some say love fell victim, too
And nothing of the world we knew remained
But even in those darkest hours of night
You were not alone, the whole world cried

Love lives on, Love lives on
Even when all hope seems gone
Love lives on

Broken pieces of our lives
A lifetime only realized in dreams
And those left to search for meaning here
Pray to God please make it clear to me
Help me through, teach me to discern
Could it be they gave that we could learn

Chorus

Each of you is living proof
Angels of the truth

Love lives on, Love lives on
In this life and far beyond
Love lives on

Just Say Yes

It’s just so easy to say no
First word I learned so long ago
Just kind of rolls right off the tongue
It even sounds good when it’s sung
No no no no no no
No I’m busy, not today
No sir, no thanks, no way Jose
No I’m too young… or old for that
No I’m too skinny… or too fat
But all these no’s are getting old
They’re bringing down my heart and soul
To change is simple so I’ve heard
I think I’ll try a different word

Just say Yes (Yes!), Just say Yes (Yes!)
Just say Yes (Yes!), Just say Yes (Yes!)
Whoa just say yes whoa
Whoa just say yes whoa

But then again this could be hard
And saying no’s so avant-garde
It keeps me safe and in the house
I get to stay here on my couch
(You know I love my blue suede couch)
Okay, I know that’s pretty lame
And negativity’s to blame
So, doctor, help me if you please
I need a no-ectomy

Just say Yes (Yes!), Just say Yes (Yes!)
Just say Yes (Yes!), Just say Yes (Yes!)
Whoa just say yes whoa
Whoa just say yes whoa

Lean Into It

All of my life I’ve been fightin’
To push away the pain and the fear
I gotta say the cure was enlightening
When it all came clear

Lean into it, lean into it / Then you let it go
Lean into it, lean into it /Whoa, whoa
Lean into it, lean into it /Now I know
I can relax just a little bit / When I lean into it

Had so many wounds that were tender
Thought I had to hide from my grief
Never understood that surrender
Offers sweet relief

Lean into it, lean into it / Then you let it go
Lean into it, lean into it /Whoa whoa
Lean into it, lean into it /Now I know
I can relax just a little bit / When I lean into it

Bridge:
It’s the opposite of what this world’s insisting
Gotta fight or fall apart
But when I melt into whatever I’m resisting
I can feel it open up my heart

Here to There

It feels like there’s a chasm
A giant gapping hole
Between all those happy people
And me and my wounded soul
You know it don’t seem right
God, it’s just not fair
So tell me now, tell me how
To get from here to there

They tell me life’s a journey
Take it one day at a time
They say I’ll get past the pain
Just change my thoughts and change my mind
Well, you know that sounds like heaven
I’d love to go, I swear
So tell me now, tell me how
To get from here to there

Darkness is darkest before dawn they say
So it can’t be long till I see the light of day

Oh, I know it won’t be easy
It’s gonna take a lot of prayer
Till I can say I’ve found a way
To get from here to there

Tears

I cried the day I came to earth, like all babies do
Grievin’ ‘cause I just left home, and everything I knew
I cried from hunger, cried from thirst, I cried out to be heard
The only way I had to speak, when I had no words

Tears, wellin’ from my soul
Tears, come and make me whole

I cried the day I lost my Mom, like most people do
Grievin’ cause for years her love, was all that got me through
I cried for orphans everywhere, I cried out in the dark
I let that raging river run, till healin’ held my heart

Tears, wellin’ from my soul
Tears, come and make me whole

I cried this morning as I prayed, it took me by surprise
I guess when joy fills up your heart, it spills out of your eyes
Tears are so misunderstood, we think they’re sad, they’re not
Those diamonds streamin’ down your face, are tiny gifts from God

Chorus (x2)

Girl in the Moon

Spoken: You know there’s been a lot of songs written about the
Man in the moon… But he’s not the only one…

She spent a lifetime starin’ at the night sky
Hopin’ and prayin’ that she could reach that high
Shiverin’ and shakin’, too scared to try
Thinkin’ ‘bout the legend of that lunar guy
Lookin’ at his face in the planetary pie
She said if he can make it, so can I

She’s come so far from the girl she used to be
Earthbound and wishin’ on a star for her dreams
Now she’s flyin’ high, dreams comin’ true
Hello world, she’s the girl in the moon

Now she’s got her passion, that girl has got a sweet song
All of heaven and earth gotta sing along
She’s funky and fearless, a fabulous friend
Standing her ground but she knows how to bend
She is who she is, don’t have to pretend
When she does what she loves, her hair stands on end

Chorus

(She says) if you wanna go the distance/Don’t go givin’ up a too soon
You know the sky is not the limit /There are footprints on the moon
Rocket girl!

Chorus

She’s beamin’ like a laser, gravity don’t phase her (Girl in the moon)
Dancing in the Milky Way, umm, an astral holiday (Girl in the moon)
She lights the night so bright, celestial diva (Girl in the moon)
Girl in the moon (X4)

Unopened Gifts

A man dreamed he went to heaven
He walked right up to God
He said, Father please forgive me
But I’ve always thought it odd
How come I have so little when others have much more
God took him to special room behind a golden door
Here are all your treasures you have no need for lack
They’ve been here for you all along you only had to ask (cause)

It’s all for you
I give you dreams and wishes
And they do come true
The moment you feel worthy
Then the clouds will lift
And you’ll see your unopened gifts

A son says to his mother
I don’t know why I’m here
It’s not easy being me
And everybody thinks I’m weird
She says don’t you know you’re perfect just the way you are
She smiles at him and gently lays her hand upon his heart
Here are all treasures God-given and unique
The world will open up to you if only you believe (that)

It’s all for you
You’re given dreams and wishes
And they do come true
The moment you feel worthy
Then the clouds will lift
And you’ll see your unopened gifts

It’s kind of like Christmas underneath God’s tree
Look inside and find who you were born to be

Back From the Future

Ooo, there’s a scary place / between your ears, behind your face
So beware, don’t go there
Worry, worry what will be / imagine the catastrophe
So beware, don’t go there
Look out below the sky is fallin’ / “woe, woe” you whine and moan
It’s terrifying what comes callin’ / when you’re livin’ in the Twilight Zone

Get back from the future
It’s time to turn around
Get back from the future
Cause all you got is now

If your hearts beatin’ way too fast / you’re in the future or the past
So beware, don’t go there
Starin’ in your crystal ball / will smack you up against the wall
So beware, don’t go there
You’re fallin’ for the smoke and mirrors / tellin’ stories that just ain’t true
Let me give it to loud and clearer / I’d turn back now if I were you

Get back from the future
It’s time to turn around
Get back from the future
Cause all you got is now

Leave it to the science fiction writers to spin galactic tragedies
Time travel will take you places you don’t really want to be

Get back from the future
It’s time to turn around
Get back from the future
Cause all you got is now

Get back . . . (3x)
‘Cause all you got is now!

Prime Time

Baby I’ve come a long, long way
From that doubting girl of yesterday
Who never thought she was good enough
Lookin’ outside herself for love
Look at me now I’m a butterfly
I’ve kissed that painful past good-bye
All I’ve through has made me strong
The power’s been here all along

I’m in the prime time (I’m in the prime time)
Of my lifetime (of my lifetime)
I’m in the prime time (I’m in the prime time)
Of my lifetime

I think of all the insanity
Tryin’ to be like you instead of me
All those years I hid my light
Scared of shinin’ way too bright
It took a lot of prayer and therapy
To own the woman I was meant to be
This moment is my finest hour
I’m standing here in my power

Chorus:

Spoken:
Karen: Gonna love my lips lines
Stowe: Love my ostomy
Karen: Stop pushin’ away what’s a part of me
Stowe: Gonna be the woman I was born to be
Karen: No more plastic surgery
Karen: That critic inside your head must stop, Stowe
Stowe: Well, quit shamin’ yourself for a muffin top
K & S: We’re finally okay with all that stuff we did
K & S: We can look in the mirror and say, “Love ya, kid!”

Kingdom of Heaven

(Inspired by the Lord’s Prayer)

Oh, God from whom the breath of life comes

Who fills all heaven and earth

May Your light shine within us

May we know You’re not separate from us

May we feel You in our hearts

Let Your will come true

Let us love like You

Thanks for Your forgiveness

May we forgive ourselves and others, too

Instrumental

Thank You for guiding our steps while we’re here

May we walk in Love, not fear

When we listen, Your message is clear

The Kingdom of Heaven is here (3X)

A-men

YOU ARE LOVED

You are loved… all is well
Your Creator thinks you’re swell
How’s it make you feel, let me hear you yell
You are loved… all is well

Find the joy in livin,’ it’s not supposed to hurt
Ask and it is given, yeah that’s the way it works
Get yourself a big ole dream, be open to receive
Gravitate, appreciate
You’re right where you need to be

Chorus

Don’t take yourself so serious, this is how it’s done
Be easy about all of this, life’s meant for havin’ fun
Raise up your vibration, tune into your heart
Know what you want, act nonchalant
Remember who you are

Chorus

S: What would you do K: if you knew S: It’s impossible for you to fail
K: Who would you be… S: Can you see? K: Take a step . . .
S: Blaze a brand new trail
K: You bring about what you think about
S: You bring about what you think about,
K: What’s your hurry ? S: What’s your worry?
K: Why you thinking that you’re all alone
S: Cause you’re not! K: So stop! S: Take a breath…
K: Realize what you’ve always known
S: You bring about what you think about
K: You bring about what you think about  S: Think about
K: You bring about what you think about
K & S: So think about this!

Chorus

How Adored You Are

Child of mine, my beloved one
Darling daughter, special son
You have never been alone
In my heart you’re always home
I’m not sure you understand
I am your greatest fan

Do you know how adored you are
How your precious heart is honored here
Do you know that you are love
And you’re enough just the way you are
Do you know how adored you are

As a babe you came to earth
With secrets of the universe
But you forgot along the way
You are cherished, you are safe
I’m right here in everything you do
Take a breath, I’m breathing you

Chorus

And oh how you would love yourself, sweet child of mine
If only you could see yourself through my eyes

You would know how adored you are
How your precious heart is honored here
You would know that you are love
And you’re enough just the way you are
It’s yours to believe / Yours to receive
Do you know how adored you are

The Question

Spoken: Lord, what would You have me do today?

O Lord, what would You
Have me do today
Where would You have me go
What would You have me say
Will You whisper your will
As I bow down to pray
O Lord, what would You
Have me do today

Repeat Chorus

I am listening
I am listening
I am listening (I am listening)
I am listening (I am listening)
(Listen)

O Lord, what would You
Have me do today
Where would You have me go
What would You have me say
Will You whisper Your will
As I bow down to pray
O Lord, what would You
Have me do today

O Lord, what would You
Have me do today
Where would You have me go
What would You have me say
Will you whisper Your will
As I bow down to pray
O Lord, what would You
Have me do today

Step Away from the Seed

Spoken: Ladies and gentlemen, the story you are about to hear is true…
Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent.

The scene of the crime, Friday at 5
The sirens were screamin,’ police cars arrive
She was holdin’ a shovel, looking guilty as sin
Caught in the act, about to dig in
The officer shouted, Put your hands in the air
Would you mind explainin’ what you’re doin’ there
This is lookin’ suspicious, are you coverin’ your tracks
This better be good, ma’am, just give me the facts (she said)

I planted my dreams here but fear they won’t grow
If I dig them up, sir, then I’d surely know
If they’ve taken root yet or all turned to weed
The officer shot back, ma’am step away from the seed

These seeds are my windfall, my ace in the hole
My hope and my future, I need some control
They’re my major investment, my 401-K
I’m protecting my stash, dude, get outta my way

It’s my victory garden, but it’s growing too slow
Can’t stand all this waitin,’ I just gotta know
I’m beggin’ and pleadin,’ just one little peek?
The lawman repeated, ma’am, step away from the seed

By now the policeman was clearly disarmed
We’re all on your side, ma’am, we mean you no harm
But you got this bass-ackwards, you’re gonna get hurt
If you don’t get those fingers out of the dirt
‘Cause I’m not a farmer, but I know too well
You mess with your seeds, and your crop goes to hell
And all that manure, well, it helps ‘em to grow
You water, you weed ‘em and then let ‘em go

So that’s the whole story, it’s true, every part
The big magic happens alone in the dark
You dream it, you plant it, and then let it be
So do yourselves a favor, y’all, step away from the seed

Sweet Sweet You

If a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound
If no one is listenin,’ nobody’s around
Same goes for us doin’ what we do
We’d be singin’ to ourselves without you-know-who

Talkin’ ‘bout you, sweet, sweet you
Where would we be now
Without you, sweet, sweet you

Bread needs butter, a flame needs a match
One half needs the other, an itch needs a scratch
Just goes to show we’re right where we belong
You got the ears, we got the song (you know we need)

You, sweet, sweet you
What would we do now
Without you, sweet, sweet you

Bridge:
Thank you for showing up in our lives
You’re somebody we adore
Your wide-open heart, smilin’ eyes
Yeah, let me tell you who we’re grateful for

Chorus:

Outro: Thank you for coming, done singin’ and strummin’
Now here is what’s truer than true
We couldn’t do it without you

Sweet, sweet you
Sweet, sweet you
Sweet, sweet you
